Note: This document contains all the references and resources listed in Dr. Pitstick’s new book The Afterlife Evidence. (2022, Waterside Press)  These were made public these for two reasons:

  1. People who listen to the audiobook can see the references since hearing them would be much less helpful.
  2. Anyone can see the references for evidence of life after death.

B  How a wise and loving Creative Intelligence can coexist with suffering: articles 13, 29, 68, 78

In short, limited human perspectives and understandings cannot fathom the reasons life unfolds as it does.  For example, from a myopic earthly view, Mikey and Stevie were just little children who died tragically.  However, from a greater reality perspective, they may be evolved teaching souls who volunteered to temporarily suffer for the many potential positive ripples.  The beneficial impacts from their brief time on earth are incalculable.

For example, when the bodies of Mikey and Stevie died in the ER, those were the only times I ever saw doctors and nurses openly weep and hug each other.  The bodily deaths of those boys motivated me to search as long and hard as I have over the last 48 years.  I assume they affected others as well.

J  Root causes of disbelief in life after death after learning the collective evidence:

  1. Fear of a fiery eternal hell: nihilistic beliefs can stem from religious teachings about a fiery eternal hell.  Some people understandably don’t want there to be an afterlife   because it may be the fire-and-brimstone type.  Learning more accurate and contemporary understanding about the nature of heaven and hell can help. (articles 14 and 45; Life Review Technique)
  2. Religious teachings about a vengeful God can also make people not want to believe in an afterlife designed by such a Creator.  Learning contemporary understandings about the Ground of All Being can address related fears and blocks. (article 13)
  3. Not wanting to see an abuser again can make people hope there isn’t an afterlife.  Many women have expressed concerns about having to confront an abusive father or  other male relative in the afterlife.  Learning that they can choose who to see or not see removes that concern.  Also, knowing that abusers may – from a big picture of life perspective – really be teachers can also help.  (articles #40, 49, 67)
  4. Unresolved emotional trauma can make an afterlife seem undesirable. People who have gone through severe and chronic suffering may think an afterlife is wishful thinking.  Or they may long for cessation of consciousness.  Releasing old wounds and stuck energy with breathwork methods can help.  (articles #29, 48, 70; Holistic Breathing Technique; Heal and Transform Your Suffering Technique)
  5. Believing life is unfair, chaotic, and meaningless is another factor that can prevent people from seriously considering the afterlife evidence.  Remember my angry shouts to God after Mikey’s body died?  It’s helpful to learn that people may choose, for meaningful reasons, the possibility of difficulties. (article 25; Pre-Birth Planning Technique; Identify and Fulfill Your Purpose Technique)
  6. A superficial intellectual versus an internalized knowing of the afterlife evidence can make it seem false.  The five factors above can contribute to this problem.  Re-reading         and discussing the afterlife evidence can help. However, I suspect that the level of a        person’s soul development – older /     advanced versus younger / beginner – affects how much people can ‘really get’ the great news of life after death.

If you can relate to one or more of these concerns, you have lots of company.  To deepen your degree of certainty about the afterlife, I recommend using the resources listed above.  If needed, seek psychological, psychiatric, and / or religious / spiritual counseling to address origins of your fears and blocks.

Some people have found that the following combination helps to internalize the great news of life after death:

  1. Read and re-read ‘The Afterlife Evidence’ book so you really own it
  2. discuss the information with trusted family members and friends
  3. share this book with others who can use it

Whatever it takes, I hope you find a way to seriously consider the wealth of evidence that proves life does not end when the human form does.  You deserve to be happy, healthy, energetic, and peaceful.  Knowing that you and your loved ones don’t really die is a huge key to that.  In addition, the world needs your greatest gifts and talents.  Those are difficult to identify and share if you are hobbled by needless fear and limiting beliefs.
