  1. Adopt a more accurate worldview based on contemporary understandings about ‘the big picture of life’ and live accordingly – whatever that means for you. (see article #19 ‘The Great News’ about the Nature of Reality at SoulProof.com)
  2. Experience shorter and lightened grieving after loved ones change worlds and other big changes that seem like losses.
  3. Fine-tune yourself physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually so you have the vitality to handle life’s demands AND share your greatest gifts / soul’s missions.
  4. Become more aware of, benefit from, and share life’s silver linings that always accompany opportunities masquerading as adversity.
  5. Create the greatest life YOU have envisioned. (The term ‘YOU’ refers to your higher self / eternal consciousness / soul)
  6. Fulfill your highest purposes for being on earth and help make our world a better place. This is now practically possible as discussed in article #125 Eight Developments for Widespread Conscious Living NowAs enough people do this, widespread personal and planetary change will naturally unfold.

What Is a ‘Postmaterial Person’?

When Dr. Gary Schwartz and I wrote the book Greater Reality Living, we devised new terms that more accurately described the topics.  We no longer wanted to use words that reinforce erroneous notions about life, death, and afterlife.

For example, we knew that ‘die’ and ‘death’ weren’t preferable since those words are so anchored to meanings of a final end.  We initially added ‘physically’ and ‘physical’ in an attempt to remind ourselves and others that only the human form dies.  Examples of this were ‘she physically died’ and ‘his physical death’.

However, we soon felt that this could be improved upon since, based on contemporary evidence, she didn’t physically die, just her no-longer-needed outer shell did.  He didn’t undergo physical death, just his outworn human shell did.

We also realized that ‘physically die’ isn’t optimal because of scientific evidence that those in the next phase of life can have physicality if desired.  We then adopted the following usage: ‘death’ and ‘die’ are only used when accompanied by one of four specific modifiers: human body, human form, earthly body and material body.  Examples include ‘the death of her human body,’ ‘his human form died,’ ‘the death of her earthly body,’ and ‘his material body died.’

These phrases, although more accurate, are admittedly cumbersome.  For clarity and brevity, we introduced the term postmaterial person to describe someone whose human body died, but is yet alive in another realm and is able to communicate.

Even though the human bodies of postmaterial persons have died, good evidence indicates they still exist.  Without a human or material body, however, they cannot be seen by most people on earth.  We wanted to include ‘person’ in this new term to convey the indications that a postmaterial person:

  1. is alive and well.

  2. retains personality, memory, uniqueness, sense of humor, talents, preferences, etc.

  3. is, or can be, more like a physical person than a ball of energy, or an ethereal spirit.

  4. has a physical form or, at least, the potential for that.

  5. is accessible for continued relationships, assistance, and communication.

Postmaterial can also be used as an adjective to describe people and pets whose earthly bodies have ceased to function. Examples are ‘my postmaterial dog’ or ‘my postmaterial husband.’  We will use the phrase ‘postmaterial communication technology’ instead of ‘spirit communication technology’ from this point forward.

The acronym for the noun form of postmaterial person is PMP.  Examples of noun forms include: ‘my father became a PMP five years ago’, ‘my wife who is a PMP’, and ‘our beloved PMPs.’  PMP can also be used as an adjective, for example: ‘my PMP-sister’ and ‘PMP-scientists assisting the SoulPhone project.’

Again, this language upgrade can help you remember that the vast majority of who and what a human is continues to exist after the material or outer form dies.

Our hope is that PMP will become a commonly used abbreviation along with NDE (near death experience), ADC (after death communication), and STE (spiritually transformative experience).
