Note: If you already know the following information scroll down to the article title in maroon below the seven asterisks.  However, I strongly recommend reading this introduction until you really ‘own’ it.  In addition, post The Great News where you’ll see it every day.

In 2019 – 2020, a series of studies at the University of Arizona definitively demonstrated scientifically that life continues after physical death.  This research was conducted by Gary E. Schwartz PhD and a team of electrical engineers, software specialists, evidential mediums, and postmaterial (so-called ‘deceased’) luminaries at the Laboratory for Advances in Consciousness and Health.

See articles #1 and 60 at SoulProof.com for an overview of the scientific and clinical evidence indicating – with 99.9% certainty – that consciousness survives bodily death.  This collective evidence, along with many firsthand experiences, also shows – with very high degrees of certainty – The Great News that you and everyone else:

  1. continue to live after bodily death.
  2. do not really lose ‘departed’ people and pets and can interact with them again.
  3. are integral, infinite, eternal, and beloved parts of Source Energy / Creator.
  4. receive assistance / guidance from angels, guides, master teachers, evolved energies.
  5. are sacredly interconnected with all people, animals, and nature.
  6. have special purposes for being on this planet at this time.
  7. have everything you need to survive and thrive during this earthly adventure.
  8. possess a magnificent, self-healing body that can optimize your earthly experience.
  9. can find meaning and trust the timing behind life’s biggest changes such as death.
  10. co-create how heavenly / hellish your life feels by your thoughts, words and deeds.
  11. can find silver linings and opportunities for growth and service amidst challenges.
  12. can likely use SoulPhone technology in the future for communication with postmaterial loved ones and luminaries who can help us heal our world.

This is, obviously, a new and exciting era for humanity.  When understood and internalized – even just a bit – The Great News can help you make the shift:

  • FROM thinking, believing, and acting as if your time on earth is unfair, meaningless, cruel, and ends with cessation of consciousness or the possibility of endless suffering.
  • TO thinking, believing, and acting as if this earthly experience is a totally meaningful, safe, and magnificent adventure amidst forever.

Upgrading your language can help you adopt a greater reality perspective and live based on the second worldview.  That, in turn, can help you create the greatest life YOU have envisioned, fulfill your purposes for being on earth, serve others, and enjoy the journey.  In my articles, l:

  1. Will use the term ‘YOU’ to describe the totality of your energy / being. The real you may manifest in different spacetime ways simultaneously. Only 20% of your consciousness may be needed for an earthly experience.  The term ‘YOU’ recognizes both of these possibilities.
  2. Will not use the terms ‘die, departed, deceased, or dead’ without single quotation marks since those have strongly entrenched and erroneous meanings indicating an end of life.
  3. Will use the terms ‘bodily death’ and ‘death of the earthly form’ to remind you that only the earth-suit dies. The rest – all the intelligence, love, personality, memories, preferences, sense of humor, and much more – continues living in other parts of the field of all possibilities.
  4. Will use the terms changed worlds, passed on, transitioned and others that aptly describe a continuation of consciousness after bodily death.
  5. Will primarily refer to those who have passed on as postmaterial persons. That term recognizes the points in #3. I also will use soul, consciousness, essence, and awareness.
  6. Will primarily refer to ‘physical humans living on earth’ as material persons. Why? Because those terms within single quotation marks may apply to postmaterial persons: they can have physicality, visit earth, and are still human in meaningful ways.
  7. The terms lower versus higher energy emotions / ways of being, are not judgmental or subjective. They are based on well-established observations that ‘as you think, so shall you be.’ Those terms are also based on objective measurements by, for example, David Hawkins PhD, MD author of Power Versus Force.  He and other researchers found that higher-energy emotions of peace, joy, and love calibrate at 600, 540, and 500 respectively.  Lower-energy emotions of anger, fear, and guilt calibrate at 150, 100, and 30.
  8. I will use single quotations marks with words such as ‘lose and fail’.  The Great News and collective afterlife evidence can expand your worldview about what seem to be losses and failures.  We can’t accurately judge the big picture of life – what is lost or how we failed – with our limited human senses.
  9. To recognize and respect different genders and sexual identifications, I will alternate using ‘he’ or ‘she’ and related pronouns. Depending on a person’s orientation, one, both, or neither of those may apply.

The free articles and radio shows mentioned are available at SoulProof.com.  To learn more about the collective afterlife evidence and The Great News, read Soul Proof, The Afterlife Evidence, Greater Reality Living (co-authored with Dr. Schwartz) and The Big Picture of Life (with Schwartz and Katta Mapes MA, MEd).  To experience expanded states of consciousness to heal and transform your life, use the audio programs under Shop at SoulProof.com.

Porn and Spirituality

When I was twelve years old, one of my neighborhood friends found a Playboy magazine.  He showed it to our gang and we agreed that it must have dropped it out of the sky.  Never before had we seen so much beauty and so much skin.

Up until this miraculous gift arrived, the only source of seeing partially clad women was limited to two sources:

1.  J.C. Penny lingerie catalogs

2.  National Geographic photos of women in other cultures

Pretty slim pickings.

Now, keep in mind, this was 1965 – not that long after the dinosaurs became extinct – and the photos revealed only the upper half nude.  Even so, it was enough to drive us crazy — as if young pubescent teenagers need any help in that regard.

It was agreed that we would store it in a metal box hidden in Mrs. Singer’s thick hedges so we all would have full access to it.  (I’m pretty sure that’s when the term “24/7” first came into use.)

One fateful day, I expectantly pulled out the box to find it empty.  The world seemed a little bleaker that day but, in hindsight, it was a blessing.  Those buxom beauties were just too tempting.  A line from The Lord’s Prayer “Lead us not into temptation . . .” seemed applicable.

Fast forward fifty years . . . I was on a three-month sabbatical in warm climes.  I saw my beloved, who had to stay in wintry Ohio, very little.  I worked on my computer many hours a day and, at some point, ‘the devil’ must have tempted me.  Actually, it was just curiosity.

My, oh, my!  How things had changed since the circa 1965 Playboy photos.

It was like opening Pandora’s box and being able to see anything and everything remotely associated with sex.  At first, it was amazing, but soon, it felt overwhelming and ugly.  Too much!  It had gone WAY beyond titillating glimpses and felt disconnected from any semblance of love, romance, and healthy sexuality.

While I’m confessing my “dark” sides, I had a grad school roommate in the late 70’s who occasionally got some cocaine and shared it.  Whoa!  I only used it a few times and fortunately had enough sense / unseen assistance to know that it was just too tempting.   Many hours of mental and physical stimulation was just too much fun to be good in the long run.  Many people – with much more money and street savvy than I – succumbed to the drug and lost everything.  I crossed cocaine off my list of things I knew I shouldn’t do again. (Keep in mind that the term “bucket list” hadn’t been invented yet.)

My brief visit last year into the world of porn felt the same way.  I could literally feel tingles from my groin to my solar plexus, the energy or chakra centers associated with pleasure and power.  In the days after, I caught myself mentally replaying some of the images and feeling the imbalanced energy of it.

That, by the way, was one of the original Aramaic meanings for the word ‘evil’ and its cousin ‘devil’: wild, chaotic and imbalanced energy.  That concept never meant a big red guy with horns and a pitchfork who tempts us at every turn.  That’s why I earlier used single quotation marks around the word ‘the devil.’

Overstimulation by various means – porn, drugs, alcohol, gambling, video games, excess materialism, sugar, junk food, etc. – can lead to imbalanced energies.  And that, over time, can lead to an imbalanced life without the peace, joy, love, gratitude, meaning, and enthusiasm that everyone deserves.

I removed looking at porn — even rarely — off my list of higher consciousness and optimal living practices because it can:

  1. become addictive.
  2. cause feelings of guilt, shame, and low self concept.
  3. cause viewers to look at other people, especially the beautiful and shapely ones, as mere sex objects instead of whole people.
  4. support the adult film industry that is rife with drug use, STDs, mistreatment, low self esteem, violence, and illness.
  5. directly or indirectly support kidnapping of children and the sex-slave trade.
  6. make you and your significant other look less attractive by comparison since it’s difficult to compete with ultra-shapely young actresses and actors.
  7. hurt relationships by inflaming desires for new erotic sexual conquests. Like any addiction, more is required to be satisfied . . . until you can’t.
  8. steer one away from sacred lovemaking – spiritual sexuality in which two people deeply like, love, and lust for one another.
  9. trap users in lower-energy ruts versus realizing our inner divinity, focusing on love, serving others, and other higher energy focuses.
  10. steer focus from higher chakra pursuits – love, planetary consciousness, cosmic consciousness, etc. – to lower ones: pleasure, power, and survival.

Most of all, porn viewing fails the “Could you tell your momma?” test!  A good rule of thumb is to avoid any thoughts, words, and deeds that you wouldn’t want others you love and respect to know about.

I’m not judging others who watch it.  I know that some people don’t have a partner and think porn is their best option.  But watching it can perpetuate, not solve, being alone.

I’m concerned about younger generations who grow up with porn so readily available.  Will they conclude that this type of sexual behavior is normal and acceptable?  What might the long-term effects of that be?  Will romance and love-making degrade into a search for more stimulation and variety that ultimately cannot be satisfied?

For those actively on the spiritual path, porn can be a major pitfall.  I recommend taking the high road on this one; put it on the list with excess drugs, alcohol, gambling, video games, junk food, and materialism.  Many good people have been tripped up by these temptations.  Why risk it when you know the dangers?

But I still wonder who took that magazine!

Soul-utions (holistic solutions for those who are spiritually awakened)

  1. Set an intention / ask in prayer for guidance and assistance from your higher energy assistants (angels, guides, master teachers) and the Light.
  2. Stop cold turkey and don’t let yourself backslide. Some people find that wearing a rubber band around the wrist is helpful. When you find yourself tempted, vigorously snap the rubber band and mentally yell to yourself ‘Stop it!’
  3. Review the reasons why don’t want pornography to be part of your life.Where there’s a why, there’s a way.
  4. Realize that the quality of your life and afterlife may be hurt. George Ritchie MD, in his book My Life After Dying, described a series of teachings during his profound near-death experience. One involved being led to a nightclub where he saw the astral field of humans weakening as they became intoxicated.  This allowed hovering spirits / ghosts – who were presumably alcoholics while on earth – to attach to the drunks’ energy field and get a ‘contact high.’Dr. Ritchie, a psychiatrist and professor at the University of Virginia, also saw lower energy realms where people engaged in dehumanizing sex acts constantly.  He considered this to be a temporary form of hell.  Angels tried to help but often couldn’t get through to these poor souls who had sunken so deeply into depraved imbalance.  Why risk getting to that point here or in the hereafter?
  5. Seek psychological and/or pastoral counseling to get help.
  6. Search for online and local sexual addiction support groups.

Stopping the use of porn and inappropriate mental fantasies is similar to breaking addictions to junk food and sugar.  Here’s what I recommend . . .

Fast for three days and do a detox – if medically approved – to reset your taste buds.  This helps you appreciate the taste of real food again.  Fast food junkies get addicted to the stimulation of sugar, salt, and other chemicals that act to excite the brain.  There is a several day period of mental and physical withdrawal.  But then you feel more clear, energetic, and enjoy the taste of healthy natural food.

In the same way, I recommend going without any sex for a week.  It may be difficult, but remind yourself why it’s important and worthwhile.  At that point, resume sexual activity with your partner or masturbation but do not let yourself use any porn or pornographic fantasies.  At first, you may not have sufficient sex drive or ability to achieve and maintain an erection (penile or clitoral) for orgasm.

Over time, however, your body and brain will adjust to having less stimulation until more loving and real intimacy is satisfying.

To halt the potential addiction and problems, quit using any porn for just 90 days.  Focus on more loving and wholesome relationships with your loved one.  (If you aren’t currently in a loving and supportive relationship, see below.)  This will “reset” your need for sexual stimulation and, over time, you will be more satisfied with:

a. your significant other, especially if you love each other and practice optimal self care (see my book Radiant Wellness)

b. masturbation because your threshold for satisfying orgasm will have lowered.

If you don’t yet have a loving partner, spend your newfound time and higher energies to find one.  Here’s a five-part formula for this:

  1. Pray / intend that you will find a wonderful person to share a happy and healthy life with. If that seems impossible, remember that it only takes one.
  2. Make a list of all the attributes you would like in your partner.
  3. Set about to become someone who would attract a person like the one you described in #2.
  4. Frequent places where people on your list would go, for example, churches, meditation groups, yoga classes, service organizations, fitness classes, study groups, and hiking groups.

If, after considering the above, you still want to view adult sites, see this article suggested by several readers who thought I wasn’t being practical about the needs and preferences of many people.  https://www.cosmopolitan.co.za/love/sex-relationships/9-women-friendly-safe-porn-sites-that-wont-break-your-computer/  The recommended sites are supposedly more respectful of women and use adult paid sex-workers under more healthful conditions.
