Does ‘The Veil’ Really Exist?
One advantage of being older – I was born soon after dinosaurs became extinct – is developing enough wisdom and experience to explore the validity of commonly held beliefs. In this short article, I’ll discuss ‘The Veil’ . . . does it really exist and, if so, how and why?
I credit the work of Gary E. Schwartz PhD, director of the Laboratory for Advances in Consciousness and Health and others there for input about this topic. A former professor at Harvard, Yale, and the University of Arizona, Dr. Schwartz also directs the SoulPhone Project. After working with him on this project for 10 years, I am privy to fascinating indications about how life is really set up. Our discussions about a ‘veil-like dynamic’ between space-time dimensions surfaced while researching technology to communicate with postmaterial persons (the so-called ‘departed’).
Learning more about the ‘physics of spirit’ motivated me to examine this topic and share my thoughts. To be clear, no official research has been done to evaluate the reality of ‘The Veil’. However, interesting input has surfaced while working with evidential mediums and A-Team test pilots. (A-Team members are postmaterial luminaries who were scientists and educators while on earth and who want to help us on planet earth).
As with other supposed spiritual truths, the topic of ‘the Veil‘ warrants a deeper look through the lens of contemporary findings and understandings.
As a youth, I heard vague references to something called The Veil. I envisioned a vast white divider, gauzy but formidable, that separated earth from heaven. At that young age, I really didn’t know what the veil was supposed to do. As I grew older, I thought its purpose was to keep unwanted visitors from entering heaven / higher energy planes. The veil might also limit ‘dark or evil spirits’ from hurting those on earth.
Perhaps that was one way that angels and G.O.D. protected those on earth? Later in life, I realized that ‘the veil’ was likely a metaphor instead of an actual and very large curtain. I joked that space explorers might one day travel far enough to see a sign stating: ‘Warning, you are now approaching The Veil’.
I’ve searched for accurate answers to life’s biggest questions for over 50 years since working part-time in hospitals as a respiratory therapy technician. I was trained to work in ER and ICU units and assisted in many ‘Code 4’ resuscitations. As a result, I was present as the bodies of many people – adults and children – suffered and died. During that time, I became familiar with different one-way valves used with ventilators and other breathing systems. The valves were designed to let in ‘the good air’ (rich in oxygen) and minimize re-breathing of ‘the bad air’ (with too much carbon dioxide).
(Note: I purposely used an unusual phrasing ‘the bodies of’ versus ‘people died’. This is an important distinction: the people themselves didn’t die; just their earthly forms did. Further, they likely didn’t suffer since the consciousness / soul of a person can separate from the body just before significant suffering and death.)
The following discussion provides foundational thinking about the veil. In 2018, the SoulPhone Team R & D (research and development) team was designing future ‘SoulSwitch Sessions’. The SoulSwitch is a binary Yes / No indicator for signals / answers from postmaterial persons (PMPs) to questions. At that point, a series of highly accurate, rapid, and secure switches was planned to create a SoulKeyboard.
(Note: The acronym PMP, again, stands for postmaterial person. This is our favored term for those who used to live on earth but are now in a different space-time dimension. I recommend learning this term now since it will be widespread in the future much like NDE for near-death experience.)
To facilitate a SoulSwitch Session, we had to ensure that the invited PMP would know when and where to show up. Several evidential mediums on the project relayed assurances from key PMP team members that they would act as ‘Soul Operators’ and make sure that happened. Susy Smith, one of our beloved PMPs helping the project, volunteered to oversee the Soul Operator team. While living on earth, she was a medium and author of thirty books on afterlife and psychic topics. Susy and Dr. Schwartz were colleagues and close friends before she changed worlds in 2001.
A series of communications between Susy and project evidential mediums also explored the topic of security. How could we ensure that ‘nefarious spirits’ wouldn’t masquerade as loved ones that a client hoped to contact during a session? Susy and other PMP team members described a type of one-way valve system that sounded a lot like the veil concept. People / souls with higher energies – AKA more advanced souls – can make contact more easily because of their higher integrity and evolved nature. On the other hand, souls with lower energies – nefarious and imbalanced PMPs – could not make contact.
(Note: I apologize for all the notes, but it’s important to use accurate terms and define them. I use the term ‘people / souls’ because humans have a dual nature: a brain-based consciousness and a transcendental source of consciousness that existed before your body was born and continues after it dies. When your earthly form perishes, you are still a person; conversely, when you are living on earth, you are still a soul.)
While discussing veils and one-way valves, someone used the example of postmaterial ‘peeping Toms’. A common question is ‘Can my “deceased” loved ones seeing me having sex or going to the bathroom?’ The short answer is: Those who could do that wouldn’t; and those who would want to can’t. This dynamic may apply to imbalanced / nefarious souls who would want to disrupt Soul Switch Sessions in some way. Their lower energies / evolvement may not allow them to do this, but we will have gatekeepers in place to ensure the safety of communications.
Granted, there is some anecdotal evidence that imbalanced / dark souls influence people. In my opinion, this usually occurs when humans invite them in consciously or unconsiously. Devil worshippers, alcoholics, and drug users are examples of how a person may open themselves up to nefarious spirits.
That’s one reason why it’s so helpful to regularly pray, meditate, spend time in nature, and enjoy a personal experience with the Ground of All Being. Over time, you’ll note a closer connection to The Light and your spiritual support team (angels, guides, and master teachers). You’ll also likely be more aware of and appreciate the guidance, assistance, protection, and love that is always available. All this can expand your senses, increase your personal energy, and allow you to detect more of the greater reality.
Recent R & D with the project has involved more indications of information / energy flowing as through a diode or one-way valve. For example, it’s apparently easier for higher-energy PMPs to be aware of and influence earthly events than for humans to sense and affect otherworldly realms. This may be part of the ‘physics of spirit’ that must be understood and incorporated as postmaterial communication technology is developed.
My bottom line impressions? G.O.D. is a supremely loving and wise Creator of higher energies (peace, joy, love, gratitude, compassion, enlightenment, etc.). The Light wants all creation to enjoy those sublime emotions and ways of being, but people aren’t automotons. They can choose if and when they are ready to know and enjoy their high nature and Source. It makes sense that the cosmos would have protective systems in place to minimize harm to and from beginner / imbalanced souls who don’t yet understand the importance of The Golden Rule.
A semi-permeable veil that acts like a one-way valve may be one way to do that. Less evolved souls need it to keep from hurting themselves and others. People / souls with more advanced energies don’t need as much protection and may not even need a veil. Sensing more of the big picture of life can provide many benefits, for example, interdimensional communication and out-of-body travels for service, adventures, growth, and enjoyment.
